Seoul Time Lapse

When I see a video like this, I can’t believe I lived in a city like that for 2 years. Truly beautiful. I still do miss Seoul, including the love of my life residing right in it.

Korea Dreams

You always want what you don’t have.

I had a dream last night where I was going to make a decision to go right back to Korea again to teach for a 3rd year. The decision felt solid in weight, I was excited to be with my girlfriend again and live the exciting lifestyle known as the expat in Seoul, South Korea again. The wake of buzzing cars, Korean chatter, fantastic long summer fun, funky fashion Korean styles and the weirdness of the 30 million inhabitants (size of Canada) in one little dot.

However, I woke up.

I remembered that the first time I sat down in my lofty apartment, I told myself that everything here was just a fantasy. Having my own place, going out every weekend, an easy but challenging job and conquering unknown territory will all disappear once the contract is done. My friends in Toronto are buying property here, purchasing investments and many are starting to get married.

So I’m changing my blog now over to thoughts and tidbits of my life living here in Toronto. I believe it’s another adventure here that I should be excited for and take an opportunity to express and share it with you all. I will have some Korea posts as it interests me and some of my followers still in the ROK.

Oh and guess what, Jessica will be coming in April. I will write more about us =)

Peace Korea.

According to the World Health Organization’s “Global Status Report on Alcohol and Health 2011,” the average global alcohol consumption from 2003 to 2005 was 6.1 liters per person per year. Korea’s average was more than twice that at 14.8 liters. That’s 14.8 liters of pure alcohol, not total alcohol.

Awesomeness

The best line is “I could accept your kinky funs, if that is disease free way to enjoy”
hahahahahahaha. Oh Korea, how I will miss the busted up English.

Me and the girl went to SamCheonggak in SamCheong-Dong. Was a fantastic spot for traditional Korean cuisine. Expect to pay 45k won or more per person though. I would recommend it for you valentine lovers out there ;)

Naked News Korea

“I hope that you will view Naked News Korea in the days to come, on the quality of our news reporting.”

Hahahaha, I’m sure the pervy Korean men will value that immensely.

Update: I found out that the company has been shut down, after one of the managers, John Chau, took the money & ran out of the country.  http://www.allkpop.com/2009/07/naked_news_korea_was_a_scam

Finding brown stuff in the stairwell

I was walking up the dark stairwell in my building (because I live on the 2nd floor) and all of a sudden I saw some massive black looking thing on the ground. Before I could figure it out what the hell it was, the stench collided into my nose like the cars that frequently crash into each other near my intersection. BAM. I ran.

Somebody took a massive dump in the stairwell. Avoiding all of the hand railings during my ascent, I made it back to my house just to tell my gf all about it. I tried to coerce her to come with me to see it again, because it was a really big pile. Unfortunately she denied.

WTF IN THE STAIRWELL.
